Providing clients counseling is one of the vital aspects of good advocacy. An advocate can’t do everything as per clients demands. Often we face such types of clients usually who want everything as he is prayed for. But when we analyze his documents we find that the clients did not follow the law or he not have proper documents in favor of his argument. So, often an advocate can’t provide everything as per clients prayer.
However, some of justice seeker person think that the court can do everything, but it’s really a wrong idea. Because of, every court utilizes such kind of power which obtained from the existing law. Court does not do anything beyond the law. So, there is some limit between clients sought and justice.
Even though most of the time every advocate trying hard and soul for securing clients prayer. Actually, it’s all about a dedicated advocate’s duty to deliver the highest relief to his clients. Fighting for clients justice is every advocate’s passion. So sometime it works, sometimes it doesn’t work.
It should be noted down that a disappointing situation would be arising out anytime between clients and advocates. It’s also a part of advocacy. So, in my view, client counselling is really important for every case. I have noted some point regarding clients counselling, which is described below:
Key Points on Client Counselling
° Providing information and giving update situations of the case to your clients;
° Before receiving any case delivered your opinion and likely to be consequence of the case;
° Don’t shows yourself over confident between the clients;
° Disclose your fees for moving the case in last stage;
° Mind it, you are not a law teacher, so don’t need to be teach to the clients. You just deal every case as a lawyer, you are not bound to disclose every tricks regarding your practice;
° Treat your clients as a client, don’t made them as your friend;
° Always talk to your clients with a law reference regarding similar matter in relation of his cases;
° When you deal with a client maintain your dress and try to used your chamber;
° Provided exceptional matter, don’t meet clients outside for discussing any case.
Final Thought
Clients satisfaction is one of the vital aspect of advocacy. If you want to become a great lawyer you must satisfied your clients. It’s your own method how you satisfied your clients. I just shared some of my own opinion regarding clients counselling. Hopefully it will be helpful for everyone.
